The fate of Daniil Leonidovich Andreev (1906–1959), a poet and thinker, the son of the outstanding Russian writer Leonid Andreev, included all the tragic events of Russian history of the first half of the 20th century. The book, published to mark the 115th anniversary of the birth of Daniil Andreev, is based on the archives of the poet and his widow, memories of friends and contemporaries, letters, interrogation reports and other documentary sources and recreates the details of his biography, talks about the origins of his worldview, inseparable from the traditions of Russian and world culture, about the nature of his mystical insights.
