The novel “Maids of the Night” is one of the most famous bestsellers in modern Ukrainian literature. It was published back in 1992, reprinted several times, but again quickly disappeared from bookshelves... The events of the book take place in 1978. The hero returns from the army and plunges headlong into the frantic whirlwind of life - such as he has never known. “Fartsovka”, friends-pimps, prostitutes, an elderly lady who prepares girls in her “school” to provide services of a certain kind - the hero at first only observes this whole world.
