In 1944, Vera Panova made four trips on a military ambulance train to the battlefields. The fast-moving image of a train with a red cross rushing through a war-torn country became a symbol of life continuing in the face of death. The book "Companions" was twice filmed. These are everyone’s favorite films “For the rest of my life” by Pyotr Fomenko and “Mercy Train” by Iskander Khamraev. The third film adaptation of the work is currently being prepared.
