The story shows the inner world of a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The forty-three-year-old heroine of the story was abandoned by her husband, then she was fired from several jobs one by one, and to top it all off, she was left with almost no money. Naturally, in such a situation, any person should have a defensive reaction designed to help them survive in such an aggressive world around them. Mrs. Jones reacted in a very peculiar way. She shot up her own TV with a gun and made an immodest proposal to her friend's husband. But this did not help her find harmony. Donleavy talks about, at first glance, rather banal things. But the descriptions of his character’s state of mind are so good that the story is read in one sitting. It is also good that Donleavy does not limit himself to descriptions alone. Closer to the end, the plot becomes more and more interesting, and the original ending makes you applaud the author internally.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
