A couple of years ago, New York lawyer Vincent Calvino was forced to leave his homeland. Traveling around the world, he finally settled in Bangkok and decided to engage in private investigation. But it is not so easy for a farang - that is, a foreigner - to open his own business in the capital of Thailand. Outsiders, especially white ones, are not trusted here and are considered simpletons. However, the first case found Vincent on its own. The parents of an English journalist who was recently shot in the back of the head in Bangkok approached him. They did not believe the Thai police, who immediately arrested some drug addict boy, and asked Calvino to find the real killer at all costs. The detective was on the trail. But all the threads leading to the criminals were cut off in the bloodiest way. The Englishman crossed the road to serious people who profess the principle: “a curious farang is a dead farang”...

Вінсент Кальвіно - яскравий персонаж, який викликає симпатію завдяки своїй рішучості та бажанню розкрити правду, незважаючи на всі труднощі, з якими він стикається. Автор майстерно передає атмосферу міста, його культуру та менталітет, що робить читання ще більш захоплюючим. Сюжет наповнений несподіваними поворотами, які тримають у напрузі до останньої сторінки. Незважаючи на деякі недоліки в перекладі, які незначно впливають на загальне враження, книга залишає по собі глибокий слід. Рекомендую всім, хто любить детективи з елементами трилера та незабутніми персонажами!
