Mario Vargas Llosa's A Fish in the Water is a twofold book: a memoir of one of Latin America's most celebrated witers, beginning with his birth in 1936 in Arequipa, Peru; and the story of his organization of the reform movement which culminated in his bid for the Peruvian presidency in 1990.

Читач має можливість зануритися в атмосферу Латинської Америки середини XX століття, відчути всі труднощі та радощі, з якими стикається людина, що прагне змінити свою країну. Хоча переклад тексту за допомогою штучного інтелекту в деяких місцях може бути не зовсім досконалим, це не зменшує загальної вартості та глибини твору. Книга залишає після себе багато роздумів про роль письменника в суспільстві та важливість політичної активності. Рекомендую всім, хто цікавиться літературою, політикою та історією Латинської Америки!
