The issue opens with fragments of Canute Romer's novel “Nothing But Fear.” In 2006, the famous TV presenter, advertising executive and actor who starred in Lars von Trier's The Idiots published his debut novel, which made him instantly famous. Knud Romer's novel, which tells the story of several generations of one family against the backdrop of historical events of the 20th century and has been awarded several prestigious awards, has been translated into fifteen languages. The “Literary Heritage” section presents one of the most interesting Danish writers of the first half of the 19th century. Stan Stensen Bleeker is considered to be the father of the Danish short story. He created his own artistic world and original prose, which does not fit into the framework of romanticism, which had become established in the twenties of the 19th century. The plot of his works is often based on an unusual situation, which, in addition, is resolved in a completely unexpected way. The narrator, the author’s alterego, becomes an accidental witness to the dramatic events unfolding against the backdrop of the dull Jutland landscapes, and empathizes with the heroes suffering from the injustice of the world order. The classic of Danish literature Klaus Rifbjerg, who during his long creative life tried himself in all genres, is represented in the issue with a small novella “ Cutlery", in the center of which is the fate of the generation that took part in the youth protests of 1968. Another classic of Danish literature - Karen Blixen - in the column "Portrait in Mirrors" is told by such recognized masters as Mario Vargas Llosa, John Updike and Truman Capote.
