The collection presents publications from the leading publications of revolutionary Russia - newspapers and magazines belonging to various directions of social thought of that time. They reflected the point of view of conservatives, liberals, anarchists, Socialist Revolutionaries, Mensheviks, Bolsheviks, and participants in the national movement on the outskirts of the country. The articles examine the entire range of problems that were in the center of attention of the reading public: the reasons for the fall of the monarchy, the nature of the revolutionary movement, the parameters of the future political system, the preferred electoral model, attitudes towards war, the national question, the economic situation, directions of foreign policy, etc. Periodicals - an insufficiently studied source that allows us to trace the dynamics of sentiment in society during 1917, to understand what was really worrying Russia, how the perception of the same phenomena changed in different party circles - in other words, to look at the events of that turbulent year through the eyes of a contemporary who could only guess about their result.
