The book presents diary entries for the last four years, during which a large group of domestic researchers actively developed many pressing problems in the history of Russia. At the same time, it is shown in detail how preparations were carried out for the centenary anniversaries of the First World War (1914–1918), the Revolution of 1917 and the Civil War of 1918–1922, which, in particular, was reflected in multi-volume documentary publications, collective works, monographs, collections of articles, in discussions at international and all-Russian scientific conferences. Much attention is paid to the preparation of a multi-volume history of Russia at the IRI RAS. At the same time, the diary reflected the author’s observations and assessments of complex and ambiguous processes and phenomena occurring both in the internal socio-political life of modern Russia and in the international arena.
