Автор вміло поєднує реальні історичні події з вигаданими сюжетами, що робить книгу не лише захоплюючою, але й пізнавальною. Читачі можуть відчути всю напругу битв, труднощі військової служби та політичні інтриги, що оточують римських легіонів.
