In post-siege Leningrad, Yuri Davydov, then a lieutenant, found the forgotten grave of Pushkin’s lyceum friend, Admiral Fyodor Matyushkin. And he wrote a book about him. Thus began the writer’s work in the historical genre. This book presents his works of recent years and, as always, a document; careful archival research is only the beginning, then literature: an original interpretation of the behavior of a famous historical figure (Count Benckendorff in "Blue Tulips"); an event seen from an unusual perspective - the execution of the Decembrists through the eyes of the perpetrators, the officer and the executioner (“The Road to Goloday”); the fate of two prisoners - the Decembrist, poet Kuchelbecker and the leader of the Jews, also a poet, a character from the “Old Testament” (“Zerubbabel”)...

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
