The first volume of the Byzantine Writings on Islam series is a survey of anti-Muslim apologetic literature from the 7th to 15th centuries. The book presents polemical works by such Orthodox authors as St. John of Damascus, Theodore Abu Kurra, St. Theophan the Confessor, George Amartol, St. George Decapolis, Bartholomew of Edessa, St. Nicholas the Mystic, St. Samon of Gaz, Evfimy Zigavin and St. Simeon of Thessaloniki. Many works are published in Russian for the first time.
