Історія сироти Фараха, який змушений залишити звичне життя, щоб стати частиною великої війни між Богом Вогню та Богом Темряви, захоплює з перших сторінок. Автор майстерно створює атмосферу, в якій читач відчуває всі труднощі та радощі головного героя. Фарах розкривається як персонаж, який проходить шлях від простого коваля до воїна, і це перетворення настільки правдоподібне, що неможливо не переживати за нього. Битви, магія, таємниці – все це робить книгу неймовірно захопливою. Єдине, що трохи відволікало, це незначні недоліки в перекладі, але вони не зіпсували загального враження.
