Сігмон ла Тойя, головний герой, з дитинства мріє про військову кар'єру, але його життя різко змінюється, коли він стає кур'єром у королівській армії. Ця історія сповнена небезпек, магії та незабутніх персонажів, які роблять її справжнім шедевром. Автор майстерно поєднує елементи фентезі з драмою, що робить читання ще більш захоплюючим. Я відчував, як разом із Сігмоном переживаю всі його випробування, від зустрічі з чаклунами до битв з вампірами. Незважаючи на деякі недоліки в перекладі, які незначно впливають на загальне сприйняття, я вважаю цю книгу обов'язковою для всіх шанувальників фентезі.
