Poland was the first country to fall victim to Nazi aggression during the Second World War. Despite this, her army continued to fight on various fronts throughout the five war years. By the end of the war, it was the fourth largest among the armies of the Allied powers. Polish soldiers took part in almost all the major campaigns in the European theater of operations. Fate has been cruel to the Poles during all these years, and especially cruel to Polish soldiers. The text is accompanied by unique photographs. Color illustrations were prepared on the basis of wartime documents and give an accurate idea of the uniform of the Polish army. The book is addressed to a wide range of readers who are interested in the history of the army and military uniforms.
