The book is dedicated to the events on the Caucasian front of the First World War under the leadership of General N.N. Yudenich. The events of those years make it possible to trace the heroic actions of the Russian army, which ended with the capture of the previously impregnable fortress of Erzurum, the liberation of Western (Turkish) Armenia and the occupation of the port of Trebizond. Russian troops were preparing to capture the Black Sea straits and the Turkish capital of Constantinople. However, the army's actions were stopped by the 1917 revolution in Russia. The author talks in detail about how Russia's centuries-old rival on the Black Sea turned into a friendly state and why the attitude of the Soviet authorities towards many successful generals of the First World War, including General Yudenich, changed. whose name - as it turned out, quite deservedly - was consigned to desecration for many decades.
