Translation of the third novel in the Introducing Kane series by Matthew Woodring Stover. The first two novels - "Heroes Die" and "The Blade of Tyshall" - were published in Russian quite a long time ago, but I think they are not difficult to find. The story brought to your attention takes place three years after the events of "The Blade of Tyshall". The genre of the series can be defined as “techno-fantasy” with a strong admixture of dystopia. Hired killer Kane - actor Hari Michaelson, thrown into a parallel magical world to film cruel adventures for the amusement of earthly viewers - gradually begins to consider the Celestial Empire his real home and radically suppresses the unceremonious attitude of earthly authorities towards the "natives". The possibility of teleportation is closed, but the greedy masters of the Earth will not rest until they punish the traitor. Numerous hints about Kane’s previous adventures are scattered throughout the novel, but it is better to read it as a continuation.
