This book, written in the genre of documentary historical investigation, tells about unknown pages from the life of Heroes of the Soviet Union, who in different years and for various reasons found themselves on the other side of the judicial barrier - were subjected to arrests, repressions, and were convicted. Many facts gleaned by the author from unique archival investigative and judicial documents are being made public for the first time and are not known even to historians. Among those who visited prisons and camps are V.P. Chkalov, S.P. Korolev, K.K. Rokossovsky, A.I. Marinesko and many other people awarded the highest degree of distinction in the country, whose names were erased from history and forgotten. You will not find in any detective story that Heroes of the Soviet Union become members of a gang of robbers, the leader of an Indian tribe, a repeat offender, an OUN-UPA militant, or, conversely, those officially recognized by the tribunal as agents of foreign intelligence services are awarded Gold Stars. And in the book there are several dozen such documentary stories. And almost each of them ends with the publication of an archival document.
