"Oedipus Demented" is a drama by the ancient Greek poet Sophocles, which is the second part of the outstanding trilogy about Oedipus. This tragedy tells the fate of the exiled Oedipus, who, after his investigation into the murder of Laius, arrives in Athens with his daughter Antigone. With his arrival, Oedipus prophesies a blessed arrival for the city, which agrees to receive his help. The book is a clear example of an ancient tragedy, where the deepest psychological and moral dramas of the heroes are revealed, they are interwoven with shades of fear, pride and forgiveness. Devastated Oedipus is a masterpiece of ancient Greek drama, which leaves the reader under the impression and throughout the ages remains a symbol of eternal questions about fate, sin and salvation.
