And the name Pushkin appeared in its title because the author remembered the following remark from one of Mikhail Zoshchenko’s stories: “He was a brilliant and great poet.” And we have to regret that he does not live with us now. Ця книга, незважаючи на те, що в її назві є ім'я великого Пушкіна, насправді є глибоким дослідженням долі багатьох видатних митців, які за життя не отримали належного визнання. Автор майстерно переплітає історії про Булгакова, Ходасевича, Зощенка, Мандельштама та Бабеля, показуючи, як важко їм було жити в умовах, коли їхні таланти не були оцінені по заслугах.
