A well-formed person who has acquired some store of knowledge and good manners is said to be a cultured or civilized person. But few people know that the terms “cult”, “cultural” and “culture” come from the concept of “religious cult”. Cultural pursuits appeared in connection with religious cults as part of human concerns about putting everything beautiful in the service of God. So a cultured person in the true sense of the word is a person of spiritual culture. In this context, Father Raphael Noika called his book “Culture of the Spirit.” The Holy Spirit is the One who spiritually enriches man, and people who thirst for divine beauties are bearers of the culture of the Spirit.
