The name of the most famous and beloved Russian admiral Pavel Stepanovich Nakhimov was not held in high esteem either by the royal families and their entourage, or, paradoxically, by naval officials with admiral's shoulder straps on their shoulders. Apparently because... occupying one of the highest posts in the south of Russia, P.S. Nakhimov was never an official, but always remained a sailor and naval commander. Only thirty years after his death, a ship was named in his honor, to which this essay is dedicated, supplemented by original documents.
