The brochure, which opens the “Controversial Issue” series, examines the problem of using electric shock collars, which has largely been overcome in the West, but is still relevant in Russia. Based on research data from scientists from different countries and the practice of the most successful trainers in the world, the author describes the reactions of dogs, their physical and mental states when exposed to electric current, as well as the possible consequences of using this type of training. The work presents alternative methods for solving behavioral problems, based on the knowledge of modern canine science and ethology.
