Lucian of Samosata (125 - 180). Writer. Born in the city of Samosat (Syria), in the family of a craftsman. He moved to Greece, studied the Greek language, traveled to different cities and read his works to the general public, was a teacher of rhetoric in Athens, and at the end of his life served as a judicial official in Egypt. He wrote many works, of which 84 works of different genres have survived (rhetoric, dialogues, satire, parodies, stories, philosophical treatises, etc.).

Його діалоги та пародії на сучасників вражають своєю актуальністю і сьогодні. Незважаючи на те, що текст перекладений за допомогою штучного інтелекту, якість перекладу в цілому на високому рівні, і навіть наявність деяких недоліків не заважає насолоджуватись глибиною думок автора.
