This book contains under one cover the works of two remarkable Byzantine theologians, teacher and student - Rev. Simeon the New Theologian and Rev. Nikita Stifat. The first part of the book consists of “Theological, Speculative and Practical Chapters” by Rev. Simeon the New Theologian: 100 chapters of “practical and theological”, 25 “speculative and theological” and another 100 chapters of “practical and theological”. The collection is a collection of all patristic theology and asceticism; the most important dogmatic, moral and practical issues are presented in the “Chapters” with extreme clarity and brevity. "Chapters" Rev. Simeon are the least personal and subjective, the most traditional in form of all his works. Nevertheless, the novelty of his theological thought is clearly visible in them: this especially applies to the 25 chapters placed in the middle of the collection and which are its spiritual core. Next is published the “Epistle on Confession” by St. Simeon the New Theologian. In this work, the author develops the doctrine of the power of “knitting and solving,” which, in his opinion, belongs not only to ordained priests, but also to monks endowed with spiritual experience. The collection concludes with an essay by Rev. Nikita Stifat "The life and asceticism of our holy father Simeon the New Theologian, presbyter and abbot of the monastery of St. Mamant Xirokerkos." The text of “The Life of St. Simeon” is of particular interest primarily because its author is a person who personally knew the saint and was his faithful disciple. For everyone who seeks to get closer to God.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
