A lot has been written about Ernesto Che Guevara, but debates about him do not subside even half a century after his death. This extraordinary person leaves no one indifferent. He is admired or hated, his life is described as an unprecedented feat or a tragic fiasco. The presented biography also does not pretend to be the “last word,” because, according to the author, historian and diplomat Nikolai Nikolaevich Platoshkin, it will never be uttered in relation to Commander Che. But if the reader can better understand and experience the time in which Che Guevara lived, the author will consider his task completed.
