Talking about the history of the SS troops, most researchers mention primarily elite formations, forgetting at the same time that a significant number of SS divisions were “substandard divisions.” One of these is the 32nd SS Volunteer Grenadier Division “30 January”. Her track record is very short, but quite bright. Having existed for just over three months, the division took an active part in the last battles of World War II in Europe - in the battles on the Oder in February 1945 and in the defense of Berlin. At the end of the war, the division shared the tragic fate of the 9th Army, destroyed in the Halba Pocket.
