This collection contains both Chaplin's story, which formed the basis of Footlights, and the script for the film itself. And David Robinson's book talks about Chaplin's work on the film, and about London in the first decades of the twentieth century, about music halls and ballets in Leicester Square, and, naturally, about Chaplin himself, who at that time was taking his first steps on stage. Robinson complements his story with unique photographs from the shoot, engravings, drawings and posters.
