For the first time in Russian, the famous pentalogy about the Decembrists by the classic of French literature Henri Troyat, which is rightfully considered the most significant artistic creation of the author, is published. The historical works included in this cycle are written in the best traditions of the French psychological novel and classical Russian prose. Developing the “Siberian” theme within the plot, Troyat once again showed himself as a brilliant novelist and thoughtful researcher of the cultural and historical heritage of Russia.
