The book examines the factors of legitimation of power in the Turkic-Mongol states of Eurasia, starting with the empire of Genghis Khan in the first half of the 13th century. and ending with the last attempts to create independent khanates in Central Asia already in the first half of the twentieth century, as well as the problem of usurpation and imposture in these states. Based on the analysis of numerous specific examples, the author determines the general trends and main factors of the struggle for power, its methods and techniques, traces the evolution of these factors at different stages of the political and legal development of the Turkic-Mongolian states, the methods of legal justification by usurpers and impostors of their claims to supreme power ( some of them are still used in political struggle in the countries of the Middle East and Central Asia). The book is intended for historians of state and law, historians and orientalists, specialists in political science and political anthropology, as well as for students studying these specialties.
