This book includes biographical sketches about the ruling representatives of the Romanov dynasty, starting with Mikhail Fedorovich and ending with Nicholas II. Written in good language, lively and fascinating, it will undoubtedly attract the attention of everyone interested in Russian history. About the author Valentina Grigoryevna Grigoryan was born in 1932 in Western Siberia. After graduating from high school with a gold medal, she entered the Moscow State Institute of International Relations at the Faculty of International Law. From her first student years she showed a special interest not only in legal sciences, but also in Russian history. After defending her diploma in public law, Germany remained at the institute for graduate studies. She was forced to stop working on her dissertation on the issue of German-Russian relations due to family circumstances. From 1958 to 1962 she worked at the Publishing House of Literature in Foreign Languages in the German edition. Living for many years with her family in Germany, she was engaged in translations of texts from German into Russian, including including biographical literature. In recent years, she has been working on materials about the Romanov dynasty, showing particular interest in the family ties of the Romanov family with Western European ruling Houses, especially German ones. In her research, she made extensive use of archival documents, letters, eyewitness accounts, historical and memoir literature, and materials from exhibitions held both in Russia and abroad. In 1997, the book “Royal Fates” was published in Germany. The book “The Mecklenburg Branch on the Romanov Tree” (Demmler Verlag, Schwerin) is currently being prepared for publication.
