The book of “Works” by the notorious Austrian writer Leopold Sacher-Masoch includes three of his most famous works: “Venus in Furs”, “Destroyer of Souls”, “The Wanderer”. For the first time in world literature, Sacher-Masoch described the phenomenon of psychological and sexual life, which was later named after him - masochism. The demonic women of Sacher-Masoch consciously or unconsciously preach the aesthetics of pleasure through torment. In his works, Sacher-Masoch anticipated the theory of the discovery of psychoanalysis and the artistic revelations of decadence. Sacher-Masoch's works were translated into many European languages and published in large editions. He was especially popular in France. His work was highly appreciated by Emile Zola, Gustave Flaubert, Alphonse Daudet, Alexandre Dumas and others. In 1886, the President of France awarded Sacher-Masoch the Order of the Legion of Honor.
