The famous criminologist and psychologist examines the most extreme and repulsive forms of antisocial behavior of people, which since the beginnings of civilization have been in irreconcilable contradiction with generally accepted moral and legal norms. Analysis of the cultural-historical, psychological, social and personal prerequisites, causes and circumstances causing cannibalism, incest and infanticide allows us to conclude that these phenomena are among the behaviors and actions rooted in the prehistoric past of man. The author shows that such extreme forms of behavior, which, in his opinion, include some types of totalitarianism, are not just the most serious crimes, but also act as a direct denial of civilization. In turn, the denial of civilization is one of the radical and, apparently, completely unavoidable threats to society, which most often makes itself felt at sharp turns in history, when base, archaic passions and impulses awaken in individual people. For cultural scientists, psychologists, psychiatrists, criminologists, lawyers, law enforcement specialists. Of interest to scientists and specialists in the field of social sciences and humanities, as well as to a wide range of readers.
