Джон та Сьюзан Картер, опинившись у фінансовій ямі, стикаються з пропозицією, яка змушує їх переосмислити свої цінності та моральні принципи. Автор майстерно передає внутрішні переживання героїв, їх страхи та надії, що робить їх дуже близькими та зрозумілими. Сюжет наповнений напругою та несподіваними поворотами, які тримають у напрузі до останньої сторінки. Незважаючи на деякі недоліки в перекладі, загальна якість тексту не заважає насолоджуватися історією. Я б рекомендував цю книгу всім, хто любить глибокі психологічні драми та хоче замислитися над важливими питаннями життя.
