The monograph is devoted to the history of studying the French Revolution of the 18th century in Russia. over the past century and a half - from the first experiments of the “Russian school” to the latest projects implemented under the leadership of the author of the book himself. The structure of the work is multi-layered and includes 11 previously published historiographical articles by the author, accompanied by lengthy prefaces written specifically for this book and combining all the texts into a single whole. Particular attention is paid to the problem of rupture and continuity in the development of the domestic tradition of studying the French revolutionary events of the late 18th century. The book is intended for a readership interested in the history of France. It is of particular interest to professors, teachers, graduate students and students of history departments of universities.

Автор майстерно зібрав та систематизував матеріал, що охоплює понад півтора століття вивчення французької революції в Росії. Структура монографії чітка та логічна, що дозволяє читачеві легко слідкувати за розвитком думки та аналізом. Особливо вражає глибина дослідження проблеми розриву та наступності у вітчизняній традиції вивчення цих революційних подій. Незважаючи на те, що текст перекладено з використанням штучного інтелекту, якість перекладу в цілому на високому рівні, хоча іноді трапляються незначні недоліки. Книга стане незамінним джерелом для професорів, викладачів, аспірантів та студентів, які прагнуть глибше зрозуміти контекст та значення Французької революції. Я б рекомендував цю монографію всім, хто хоче розширити свої знання про історію та її вплив на сучасність.
