The monograph is devoted to the history of studying the French Revolution of the 18th century in Russia. over the past century and a half - from the first experiments of the “Russian school” to the latest projects implemented under the leadership of the author of the book himself. The structure of the work is multi-layered and includes 11 previously published historiographical articles by the author, accompanied by lengthy prefaces written specifically for this book and combining all the texts into a single whole. Particular attention is paid to the problem of rupture and continuity in the development of the domestic tradition of studying the French revolutionary events of the late 18th century.
