The process of selecting candidates for the Nobel Prize takes its course when a Scandinavian Airlines plane crashes at Milan airport. All passengers die. Including three members of the panel that decides the fate of the Nobel Prize in Medicine. Shortly before the vote, Professor Hans-Olof Anderson, also a member of the Nobel Committee, is approached by a stranger who offers him a lot of money to vote for a certain candidate.
