Автор вдало передає атмосферу епохи, розкриваючи не лише особистість Катерини, а й тих, хто оточував її, таких як Григорій Орлов та Григорій Потьомкін. Книга написана живою мовою, що робить її читання приємним і захоплюючим. Я дізнався багато нового про інтриги та політичні ігри, які відбувалися в той час, і це дало мені змогу краще зрозуміти, як формувалася історія Росії. Хоча є деякі недоліки в перекладі, загалом текст читається легко і зрозуміло.
