In the year of the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, author Alex Gromov presents his new book dedicated to the war in the Arctic. Although everyone interested in the Arctic is well aware of the outstanding role of our soldiers, the Red Navy, the local population and representatives of indigenous peoples who provided for the needs of the front and rear, this page of history is still not widely covered in the literature. Meanwhile, it was the Arctic and the Northern Sea Route that made it possible to supply much-needed allied aid to the Country of the Soviets; it was there that the famous polar convoys took place. The author of the book describes the events in the Arctic of 1941–1945, supporting the story with documents and photographs.

Автор, Алекс Громов, вдало висвітлює роль Арктики в контексті війни, підкреслюючи, як саме ця частина світу стала ареною героїзму наших солдатів та місцевого населення. Читачі отримають можливість дізнатися про полярні конвої, які забезпечували постачання необхідних ресурсів, а також про труднощі, з якими стикалися люди в умовах екстремального холоду та ізоляції. Книга насичена документами та фотографіями, що робить її ще більш цінною для істориків та всіх, хто цікавиться цією темою.
