The trilogy “Faces of Saints from Jesus to Us” by the Russian writer and philosopher D.S. Merezhkovsky (1865–1941) includes the books “Paul. Augustine" (1936), "Francis of Assisi" (1938) and "Joan of Arc" (1938), which is actually a continuation of his "Jesus the Unknown". In the new trilogy, the author again turned to his main theme, combining the centuries-old mystery of Christianity and modernity in one religious and philosophical work.
