The author is a candidate of medical sciences, a researcher at the Research Institute named after. N.V. Sklifosovsky, summarizes the accumulated 18-year experience of intensive rehabilitation of victims with spinal injuries. The publication in 1999 of the book “Fundamentals of Intensive Rehabilitation,” dedicated to the rehabilitation of victims with spinal injuries, aroused great interest in the medical world and among patients. The book quickly disappeared from store shelves. Many medical centers in Russia and abroad successfully use the technological solutions developed by the author for the rehabilitation of patients with paralysis, contractures, and false joints. The published monographs “False joints of bones”, “Manual therapy in the practice of an orthopedic traumatologist”, “Fundamentals of intensive rehabilitation of cerebral palsy”, and numerous journal articles provide scientific research data confirming the high effectiveness of the developed methods. The author's technologies, methods and devices for intensive rehabilitation are recognized as inventions and protected by patents of the Russian Federation. The book provides an unconventional view of the pathogenesis of spinal injury. The intensive rehabilitation technology is described in detail and shown in photographs. The appendix briefly outlines interesting information about the psychology of victims. The book is written in accessible language and is of undoubted interest for rehabilitation specialists, neurologists, orthopedists, doctors of other specialties, as well as for victims and their relatives.
