Mentions of these “unfamous” wars rarely appeared in open sources, their veterans signed a non-disclosure agreement, victories and exploits were hushed up, and invaluable experience was never claimed. This is the first complete encyclopedia of ALL local wars involving the former USSR. For the first time in Russian literature, based on recently declassified documents from state and departmental archives, as well as the memoirs of veterans, all military conflicts of the second half of the 20th century in which Soviet and Russian soldiers and officers took part are told.

Книга написана доступною мовою, а її структура дозволяє легко орієнтуватися в тематиці. Хоча є деякі недоліки в перекладі, це не зменшує цінності матеріалу. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто хоче глибше зрозуміти історію Радянського Союзу та його роль у світових конфліктах!
