Immediately after World War II, the Soviet Union was embroiled in a series of ongoing conflicts around the world - on the Asian, African and South American continents, in deserts, jungles and impenetrable forests. Mentions of these “unfamous” wars rarely appeared in open sources, their veterans signed a non-disclosure agreement, victories and exploits were hushed up, and invaluable experience was never claimed. Even after the collapse of the USSR, such information was published extremely sparingly, fragmentarily, and scatteredly. This book was a real breakthrough. This is the first complete encyclopedia of ALL local wars involving the former USSR. For the first time in Russian literature, based on recently declassified documents from state and departmental archives, as well as the memoirs of veterans, all military conflicts of the second half of the 20th century in which Soviet and Russian soldiers and officers took part are told.
