The artist Artem Belinsky lives in his own castle, received in exchange for a collection of African idols from Mr. Hergert. This gentleman is engaged in a very dangerous, low-profit, but extremely popular business: he eradicates world evil. On the instructions of this man-messiah, Artem goes to the Carpathians to find a collection of satanic magical paintings by Laszlo Vohacs.
