The third volume of the collected works of John Wyndham includes works that are little familiar to the Russian reader. The first of them, “The Call of Space,” is composed of short stories describing several generations of the Thrun family, which devoted itself to the conquest of space. The second, “It’s the Lichen’s Blame,” examines the problems posed to humanity by the accidental receipt of a substance that gives immortality.
