Even during his lifetime, Kerouac was proclaimed “King of the Beats,” but he invariably refused this title. All of his work, which served as a catalyst for the counterculture, is permeated with the desire to break free from social patterns and find meaning in life. These searches led to the fact that he either tested his body and psyche for wear and tear, then began to master spiritual teachings, primarily Buddhism, or traveled around the country and the world. “Visions of Cody” was called a direct continuation of Kerouac’s most famous novel, “On the Road.” ”, which became the manifesto of the beat generation. Visions of Cody became a legend long before its publication; the novel was published in full only after Kerouac’s death, and a revised and verified version from the author’s manuscript was released in the prestigious Library of America series in 2015. It was from this publication that the Russian translation was prepared. For the first time in Russian.

"Бачення Коді" - це не просто книга, це справжній маніфест біт-покоління, який вражає своєю глибиною та щирістю. Керуак зумів передати всю палітру емоцій, які переживає людина, що прагне вирватися з обмежень суспільства. Його пошуки сенсу, подорожі та експерименти з духовністю створюють унікальну атмосферу, в якій читач відчуває себе частиною цього бунту проти буденності. Хоча роман був опублікований лише після смерті автора, його енергія та актуальність не втрачені, а навпаки, лише зросли. Якість перекладу, хоч і має деякі недоліки, не заважає насолоджуватися цим шедевром. Рекомендую всім, хто шукає натхнення та нові горизонти у літературі!
