Gostomysl (d. c. 860) - the legendary elder of the Ilmen Slovenes, with whose name in some later lists of chronicles the legend about the calling of Rurik is associated. According to other sources, Gostomysl may have been the name of one of the tribal leaders of the Vends (Western Slavs), who died in 844 in battles against King Louis.
