Gostomysl (d. c. 860) - the legendary elder of the Ilmen Slovenes, with whose name in some later lists of chronicles the legend about the calling of Rurik is associated. According to other sources, Gostomysl may have been the name of one of the tribal leaders of the Vends (Western Slavs), who died in 844 in battles against King Louis. Alexander Mayboroda offers his own version of those distant years, but also based on a number of written sources. 804. The beginning of the Viking Age. Sea robbers of the Danes invade the lands of the Slovenes. The Slovenian prince Burevoy enters the fight, but is defeated and dies. After the death of the leader, the squad does not want to serve his successor, the young Prince Gostomysl, and he is left without an army. But soon Gostomysl manages to assemble a new squad and expel enemies from the Slovenian land. This is the first book about the legendary prince and elder of the Slavs...
