A landing armada of seventeen ships is rushing towards an enemy star system. On board one of them is Jack Stanton, a combat robot pilot, in the company of fellow pilots, several thousand infantrymen and a couple of enemy spies. The enemy has his own problems; as a result of a coup d'etat in the Cutting Empire, the ancient race of grizotts, uncompromising and aggressive fighters, came to power. It's time to take advantage of this and strike first, but the Cutting spies intend to thwart the plans of the people. Hastily assembled assault divisions are sent to intercept the landing.
