I am bonded to a demon. All my life I have avoided magic at all costs. Now I am responsible for a demon who has more dangerous magic than the coolest sorcerer or magician. Demons are evil. That's what the textbooks say. I was convinced of this myself. My demon is bloodthirsty, temperamental, cold. But he protects me even at the cost of his life. Sometimes I wonder if underneath his hostility there is a compassionate heart. My demon is a monster. Whether he is heartless or not, our contract is illegal and very dangerous. Together we must find a way to bring him home before someone discovers our secret.
